So I've decided to name these guys Mashu, after how my neice used to pronounce "Matthew" when she was little, and I've introduced a shorter, armless variation as well.
I think my next step will be to attempt to model GC versions that can be 3D printed. As I've not done any 3D modelling since I graduated uni a decade ago, this may present a challenge!
Maybe I'll have to see if the local maker space has access to a 3D scanner....
