MA Illustration + Inktober Week 1

Last month I started a part time Masters in Illustration at University of Portsmouth!

This first teaching block we’re working on our proposals for our main projects, and “A Question of Research” looking into research techniques for creative practices.

Currently my plan for my project is to develop the Mashu, but I’m not quite sure what the end product will be yet!
I know I want them to be a reminder to have fun and find things to enjoy in life as they explore our world and try to make sense of the artefacts they find. I’m thinking it would be a series of still images, rather than a narrative, but I’ll to see what develops.
I did also see about scanning and 3D printing the Mashu models I made previously but they’re too small to scan. If I’m going to 3D print them I’ll need to brush off my 3D modelling skills from my previous degree and model them from scratch.

This year I’m using Inktober to help me flesh out the idea. I’m using the official prompt list to come up some situations for the Mashu and see how they respond. The first week of images, Tuesday 1st to Sunday 6th, are below.
